Default Well I have a little headlight harness prob...

As of lately my driver side headlight has been going dim time to time. My high beam light comes on but very dim fainted. I knew exactly what it was, so i checked it and sure enough, the ground wire to me headlight was FRIED. grand.........Well I go to buy some new "upgraded" harnesses and splice and solder them into my old harness...turn it on and BY GOLLY IT WORKED!!!!Next day my headlight started going dim again. and on the second day the ground was already showing signs of being burnt again....I notice also this happens the most when i wash my car at night time. Any clues to what's causing my burnt ground on my headlight....sorry it was long

Need more info...

Are these stock bulbs you've been using or upgraded wattage halogens? HID?

Have you pulled your steering wheel column cover to inspect the MFS and its connector? My friends SRT4 burnt up at the connector on his MFS and was his issue for lights going out and acting wierd....

stop washing your car at nighttime! just kidding ...

Get out the trusty multi-meter and compare voltages and what not to your other headlight.

Yes I had some "upgraded light"...And I do realize they use way more wattage and burn hotter. But to go and burn up a stock harness and an upgraded one is kinda weird. I have not looked at the MFS as I do not kno what that is or what it does. The burn marks on mine are just at the connection of the harness and bulb. Maybe I just need to go back to stock bulbs as of now.

When you say it burnt up a upgraded one what was upgraded about it? How was it wired?

A standalone relay harness built properly should not fail.

Yes, anything other than stock wattage and a decent bulb manufacture does not need to be in your car without a proper upgraded relay harness. not doing so can damage stock wiring and possibly the MFS (multi function switch).
