Default want your guys opinion on projector idea

First off I have a few questions

-ebay a good place to get projectors for both headlights and fog lights?

-whats the deal with hid kits are they that much brighter that alot of people do them?

-i have the stock headlights with new bulbs tinted with s style eyelids and i was wondering what you guys think it would look like with black eyelids on projectors?

- Ebay is a great place to get cheap projector headlights. Ebay is also a place to get cheap OEM projectors if you intend on doing a retrofit.

- OEM HID kits in retrofitted housings (see my thread, awwsheet, ND4SPD, NjKiko, Wiggyx, etc.) have better light output. HID's in aftermarket projector headlights and stock housings are not any better than your stock halogens though it may appear that they are. They throw light randomly and shoot glare at oncoming traffic since there is no projector to control it.

Look up output differences between the aftermarket stuff and the OEM stuff, the stickies in the top of this forum will show you it's night and day between the two.

are you refering to retro fitted headlights or or the aftermarket projector headlights. either way, yes ebay is a good source

if you just get an aftermarket kit, you'll just end up blinding people. the beam pattern is not any better than stock. it is, however, brighter. some people claim that they see better with just hids in. i think its an illusion because there's more color with hids.

look at my sig pic. its c/f but close enough

opinions in bold

I tihnk me and awwsheet have the same question. Lilsparkplug do you mean aftermarket hid kits in stock housing or after market headlight housings with projectors... Example the MPx black housing projectors. I just ordered these and am wondering if I bought those headlight housings is it worth it to put hids in them or should I by new projectors to retro-fit in? Thanks a lot.

Either way, output is gonna be pretty poopy. You're better off with HID's in the stock lamps. The cheap-o aftermarket lamps with projectors have terrible output.

Already PM'd him. Once I get these im gonna take a bunch of pictures and make a very detailed install thread with bulbs, relays, signals, halos, projectors, everything... I know ND4SPD has done a lot and there good but theres still a few grey spots. Ill be getting them this week with projector halo fogs so it should be up by next week.

HIDs in anything but an OEM retrofit kinda suck for output like Wiggz () said. Better off retrofitting to get the best out of whatever you may buy.

It's just funny cause NOBODY ever calls me that. You have to say it two or three times for me to even respond usually.
