Default TL Projector questions

Just have a few quick questions about the TL's projectors:

Dimensions:

Diameter of the lense?
Overall Length of the unit?
Overall height of the unit?
Overall width of the unit?

What type of bulb does it use?
What K are the bulbs?

Just a clarification, it is a true BI-XENON projector? As in HID High beam AND HID Low beam?

Thanks

So they use D2S bulbs, are BI-Xenon and are 4300k. Couldn't find any of the dimensions

Your color temperature is not dependant on the projector. That rating comes from the bulb itself.

Yes, Acura uses a 4300k bulb for their OEM headlight systems. As do most of the car makers. And yes ... the TL projectors are bi-xenon. Hi-beam and low-beam, same projector.

My Performance shop is part of a large group of car dealers including Acura, Toyota, Dodge, Nissan and a few others. OEM and aftermarket parts come cheap to me

I'm looking for some Bi-xenon HIDs for my car. I had found a nice pair of Hella's, but they were just under $1000 my cost. The TLs would be a cheaper alternative.

Hak posted a "how to" not to long ago on retro's. I have a set now with TL's in them. So much better than the stock headlamps.

Does anybody have the Acura Part number for the projector assembly on it's own? My parts guy seems to think that you can ONLY buy the entire headlight assy and not just the projector... But then again he also told me that the projector was ONLY a Low beam light and not a High/Low.. So, I took him out into the show room and turned on a TL's headlights and flashed the brights at him

Just buy the projectors by themselves. Your better off that way...unless you can get one hell of a deal off your friend. The ballasts that come with the TLs (valeos or matshuita (sp?)) are made in a protected/weatherproof encluse that is made onto the headlight assy.

Go with some Gen 3 ballasts for more protection in your application.

You don't need "Acrua TL" bulbs or ballasts for the Acura TL projectors to work. You MUST have OEM ballast and OEM bulbs though.

My main issue atm is that he said i COULD NOT get JUST the projector assy. I HAD to order the complete headlight assy at about $700 a side....
