Default tail lights need help

i need sum help and was wanting to know if anybody know wats good for taking off spray tint???????? i got pulled over last night for having my tailights too dark and i dont want to have to buy a set of new lights so if anybody has any suggestions or ideas please let me know thank you!

I used a can of brake parts cleaner on mine, didn't mess up the tail lights.

Brake cleaner is your safest bet, since it's not harmful to plastic parts like carb cleaner or nail polish remover are. They'll be a bit dull afterwards, but it's nothing a good polish and wax can't fix. Another, more expensive, solution is reducer.

wet sand them with 1000 grit sand paper, then buff them out with some good polishing compound.
