I've had the Silverstars, (headlights, turn signals, fog lights) and i only got a month out of the fogs, i will never buy them again, my headlights are still going along with the signals, Silverstar fog lighting = TEH SUCK...
I had a set of the bad batch and they sent me the new, supposedly fixed ones. Well after about 5 months or so I had the silverstar fog lights burn out bout two weeks ago. I couldn't find anymore near me, so I put the stock lights back in and they worked. Well, I've had the stock ones back in for a week and last night I noticed my right stock light burned out. How long are the stock's supposed to last? Could there be another reason why it burned out?
Does anyone recommend any type of fog light? The Autozone and Pep boys near me don't have the type for our fog lights.
Is there a way to order the stock bulbs? I don't want to spend the money on the silverstars just for them to burn out again. Also, don't you think my right stock bulb shouldn't have burned out so quick? My left stock bulb is still working fine.
I found the regular bulbs at walmart. When I took out the passenger side bulb, WHICH I DID FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR...DAMN I'M GOOD, it was actually busted, like the bulb had exploded for some reason. That was also a stock bulb. I put my stock bulb left on the passenger side and one of the silverstar on the driver side. They both seem to work and I'm going to keep an eye on them. If the passenger blows out again i'm going to replace the whole housing. The lense on the housing is cracked and lots of moisture in it. Don't feel like paying the dealer 70 bucks yet to replace it though.
there is this shit called bulb grease that i had put in the socket of another car that i had and they bulb never blew out again..give it a try it keeps out the moisture...fog lights sit really low and pick up alot of water.

when installing bulbs please be careful not to touch the glass. if you do, just clean them with windex, i always do. also put di-electric grease in the sockets, it works by sealing out mosture (which causes corrosion in the socket). the di-electic grease also acts as an insulator, kepping the bulb cooler in the socket. as a side note di-electric grease should be used on ALL electrical connectins. hope this helps.
