Question Superstar vs 5 LED matrix dash/hvac bulbs

Been thinking about switching to blue in the dash/hvac, read all the threads and have a few questions.

There are two 194 superstars listed at autoillumination, one is 9x22mm and is $9, the other is 10x26mm and is $8.

Which one fits (i have an 04)?

and if its both:
Some guys are getting burnt out bulbs, so which of these two opitions is the "older" style and which is the supposedly improved "newer" style 194 superstar?

Would anyone suggest sticking with the 5 matrix bulbs instead of the superstars, as far as longetivity goes?

The plan is to go with either 7 superstars or 7 matrix for the dash and boost gauge (194's). Then 4 superstars (74's) or matrix (194s) for the hvacs/rear defrost. And 5 18" wire leads for the power windows/door locks.

A couple posts said they crammed the 5 matrix 194s in the HVAC. Anyone think fitting those in there will be a problem?

Haven't decided whether I want to go all white and keep the redlines or go with blue for a deeper color . . .

Thanks

I highly doubt there is any real "new stye". If anything they are the same and he is just wanting to attract more sales to deter thw word spreading about how these superstars fail horribly. If I were you, I wouldn't even waste my money on the superstar if your using them for your gauge cluster. The 5matrix does not run as hot and seems to last much longer.

The superstar seems to last a good bit longer if in the boost gauge than in the dash. So perhaps use it in the boost gauge only and 5matrix for everything else....

Has anyone tried the superwhite 5 matrix bulbs? I'm wondering if they are bright enough to make the nice light blue that the superstars make through our clusters. I'm not going to waste my money on any more of the superstars.

I havent had problems with the whites I put in my hvac, but today after my 3rd superwhite started flickering, I just decided to go back to the blue matrix bulbs for the dash. Yes, no redline...the superwhites look great IMO, but not worth the hassle of replacing every 4 months or so...

will WHITE matrix bulbs light up the cluster like the white superstars do?

I used both styles of the superstars, and the new style burnt out faster. they both were a waste of money. I am interested in the matrix bulbs now, just need to know if I can get the redlines, needles, and blue #'s with the white bulbs
