Unhappy Sticky Didn't Work

I just finished a course in formal logic and I'd like to share a little of it with you.

Problem: "CC and NiteHawk Present: The Flasher Relay Fix!" Thread is broken.

Proof by counter example.

Assumption: "CC and NiteHawk Present: The Flasher Relay Fix!" is idiot proof and works 100% of the time which is why it is stickied.

Inductive Hypothesis: Being an idiot I should be able to make this work.

Inductive step: I broke my flasher relay by disconnecting the wrong connection because I couldn't make out which was the top and bottom of the IC chip. This was caused by the pictures not working / me being an idiot.

Conclusion: The thread in question is idiot proof, 100% and should be stickied but me being an idiot broke my flash relay and had to spend +$20 fixing it. Therefore by counter example the sticky is not 100% and an idiot may break his flasher relay.

I hope that no one else uses that thread unless they have prior electrical knowleged or a degree in electrical engineering or has someone close by who can guide them as the thread in question is insufficient. I motion that the sticky be fixed or removed so no one else breaks their car.

Furthermore,

seems pretty straight forward to me...

Quote:
On the back of the circuit board, you will notice a small IC Chip with 8 pins coming off of it. There's is a reference notch in the white line going around it to mark the "top" of the chip.

Pin layout in the picture is as follows

5 4
6 3
7 2
8 1 (note pin 7 trace and pin in red)

Pin 7 is the Lamp Failure circuit, which is what causes the ricer flash when replacing bulbs with LED's. This is the circuit we are going to disable. To do so, take an X-Acto knife and either break the pin where it meets the circuit board, or cut through the copper wire on the circuit board itself to make sure that it is completely disconnected.
