He should try using plastidip spray on the intercooler, it looks great and will never chip. the volvo crowd started using it to black out their chrome front grills, and regular paint chips after a few days. plastidip stays looking new, its tuff stuff, and actully comes off easier then paint if you ever needed it to .

Plasti-dip is WAY too thick for an intercooler. It would probably kill its efficiency.

^^^ I tend to go a little lower for OEMs (like 250°) just to be sure I don't melt the lens. Like Chris said though, DEPO lamps don't really even require heat. Maybe like 3-4 minutes @ 250° tops.

the oem's open up? i thought i heard from somewhere that the oem's don't even open up that's why i bought a pair of depo headlights and i see that theres sealant around it so that's why i was asking about how long to put them in the oven. so 3-4 mins for the depo's?

OEM's are a little bit of a PITA, but I've done 4 or 5 sets at this point.

250 for 15 minutes
remove and start prying by the turn signal
after a few minutes return to the oven for another 5 minutes
remove and repeat the last 2 steps until they pop open

be patient! If you force it the lens may crack. Good luck!

It help also if you put a wet rag on the lens when it is in the oven.
