Sneak Peak: My "Remax Realtor" Fog Light Retro (my first retro)
So I'm a big lighting enthusiast, primarily for making driving on the Pennsylvania back roads safer (although I enjoy the aesthetics as well). I broke down and finally decided it was time to add more light to the SRT. With help from Remax Realtor I'm underway my first retro - blazer projectors mounted into the stock fog light housings. Soon after completion I'll be upgrading to a 3000k or 4300k HID kit (thoughts on color?). FYI, I think this is a great project for anyone who doesn't want to dive head first into the retro world. The costs are minimal to make it work well (hopefully, I'm not done yet), the retro is easier than a headlight retro, and the "fixing" costs are much less if you screw up.
I'll write up a more detailed how to once I have completed the build, but wanted to give everyone a glimpse into what I'm working on. When I'm finished it's time for decisions about SRT headlights and my motorcycle lighting...

I think that's your forum preferences resizing it. Mine does that too, but it still has to load that huge image regardless.
Anywho, looks good. It looks like the lens may not clear. Have you test fitted it yet?
I popped one in last night; it was cold and just finished raining so I didn't spend too much time out there. I test fitted the passenger side (only side with clearance issues. The stock alignment screw works well. If tonight is nice I will align them horizontally and coaxially and then seal them up.
Cool, looks like a very straight forward retro. Can't wait to see them done.
It really is. Similar to what I mentioned before, I wanted to "dip my toes" into the retro world by starting with something small/easy. Only have about 5 hours in so far and maybe another 2-3 left (fingers crossed).
^^^ The best part is, that if someone wanted you to do this for them, it would probably take a quarter of the time it took you to do the original. I've been itching to start a 2nd retro for the same reason.
Looks good. Im actually pulling my retro off, and putting in the halo fogs and painting the halo black. Im having an issue with my driver side projector on my retro. I believe the hid bulbs cooked the chrome on the bowl. It seems to happen to only a few blazer owners. I suggest leaving the breather vents on the projector open so they can release some of the hot air. I sealed mine up so thats probably what caused it. The breather vents are the holes with the little mesh over them. You can keep the mesh on, just make sure it isnt blocked.
I was actually going to put another set of blazers in the halo fogs, but it would have been a pain. The blazer fog is a little wider than the stock halo fog light, but the blazers are also made much better. The bowl on the blazers is very shiny. The bowl on the halo fogs are very dull with some shiny spots. You can tell they were very cheaply made. The blazers are made very well, because they were used on a few gm cars like the c5 vette.
Since the halo fogs use h3 bulbs, I will have two sets of 880 hid bulbs if youre interested. One is 3000k, and the other is 4300k. Both have very low hours on them. I have the 4300k in my garage, but the 3000k are still on the car. Im going to paint my fogs tonight, and try to get them installed tomorrow, so I can probably ship them out this weekend. All you would need are ballasts and a relay harness. Pm me if youre interested. For all 4 bulbs I would only want $30 shipped. I will test them to make sure they fire up before sending them out.
