I just replaced a silverstar headlight a week ago and now my third foglight went out in 4 months. Don't buy silver stars, they are fucking pieces of shit...
I havent put them in my srt4 yet. But i had them in my 1st gen neon and they lasted 3 years. Make sure you dont TOUCH them or bump into anything with them. They will fail prematurely. Or you just could have gotten some bad bulbs. It happens.

i tried to keep silverstars in my fogs and headlights but they just kept blowing after 1-2 months. I got tired of it and just bought some cheapo cool blues and they've been on for 5-6 months w/ no problems.

Put my Silverstar head lights and turn signals in back in 03, about 12K on the car. All four are fine now, with 72K on the car. I have not done fogs, but cant imagine they are much different.
I concur with the finger thing. What happens is that your fingers leave traces of oil. Those traces focus heat, which leads to hot spots. Its hard to not touch them, but you gotta either not do it, or wipe them clean.

i put silverstars in 1year ago this month (went to keys last year) and they are working great..no problems. I find that most ppl touch them and then think oh they will be ok....nope
i heard they fixed the fog problem, ive had my fogs in for about 8 months with no problems at all
The problem wasn't SilverStar it was the people selling bulbs that fit but weren't made for that application. SilverStar now sells a bulb for our driving/fog lamps. Use the 9145ST.
