Has anyone ever seen this? Yes could come off as a little ricey but what ever. I think it would look pretty sick to have something like this for those of us with the LED tail lights. If anyone knows of some sort of universal kit somewheres let me know, bc my car would be the gueina pig for this mod.
Check it out on youtube. Search< Sequential tail lights
There are no universal kits that would make these lights sequential. My .02 about trying on the LED tails is that the LEDs they come with....are weak. I see more people complaining that a few have gone out after a couple of years than not. I would upgrade the LEDs and hack apart the entire light to make it sequential. It's very common on the newer mustangs. I'm not saying that it couldn't work, it very well could....but it would be a decent amount of work to get it to run properly.
Stupid idea because that means when you hit the brakes only a few leds will be lit until the next row turns on. If you need to brake hard and the guy guy behind behind you might not see that first row and smash into you. As crystal said those leds are not very bright with all of them lit. Can you imagine only 1/3 of them lit on a sunny day?
sequential turn signals have been around on mustangs a as mod at least since the 96 body style came out. found a link for led upgrade for the old style Mustang Project Led Sequential Taillights Photo
Yea, mustangs are one of the few vehicles that are aftermarket related and have vertical columns for taillights. I have seen this done on them so many times. It still looks cool though.
The taillights would operate normally...They wouldn't be sequential while braking...Only while using the turn signal.
i was wondering what the hell you all were talking about til i saw a mustang tonight.
that would be cool pull off. wouldn't know the first place to start though.
i recently installed a sequencer on a new mustang. it wasnt that hard. just splicing into each bulb socket on each tail. if you take the led tails apart, and seperate the wiring on each board (3 per tail) it wouldnt be too bad. maby ill do this i need a project.
