Default Retros/Projectors/Gauges/Foglights/Halos: My Output and Bulb thread w/Pics

Okay I get a crazy amount of PM's on a weekly basis between a couple of forums asking me what headlights I have, what bulbs are in my gauges, what foglights I have, what gauges I have etc. So I went out, took pictures and here are the output shots, up close shots, and a breakdown of the bulbs that I use in my car. Hopefully this helps people who have asked for output shots and what bulbs I have. The most common is the gauge cluster questions....any other questions about them feel free to ask.

These pictures are all unedited straight out of the D40.

Retrofitted headlights:
3" Valeo H7 HID Projectors w/Chrome Bezel
4300k HID Kit w/Relay Harness
Flat black shrouds
Amber turns

Projector foglights:
Ebay Halo Projector Foglights
RockBlocker 35% tinted film
White LED in the Halo
3000K HID Kit w/Relay Harness
Halos wired into sidemarkers (which are nightshaded orange stockers, not pink bulbs)

Gauges:
A-Pillar: GlowShift cover painted Agate to match
Prosport Fuel Pressure (blue LED)
Prosport Oil Pressure (blue LED)
Prosport EGT (blue LED)
Instrument cluster: Six 5-WLED Matrix bulbs (autolumination.com)
HVAC: 3 #74 bulbs (autolumination.com)
VEI Digital Blue LED Boost Gauge
If you have a stock boost gauge and want it to match the cluster, buy another 194 5WLED bulb. If you want your turn signals to light up blue instead of green (on the cluster) buy two single led 194s. My odometer reading is the film from ByVampDesign, it is VERY difficult to read during the day.

The other things you see around the cluster are the Jensen In-Dash, Greddy Profec B Spec II EBC installed in the central vent, XM radio (orange up top), and Cobra radar detector (up top). The GPS unit sits next to them.

Taillights:
OEM Nightshaded with approximately 5-6 coats of nightshades and 3 heavy coats of UPOL clear
License Plate: Is a WHITE (not blue though like the Halos it looks it) 194 single LED

Halos/Sidemarkers/Turns

Projectors w/halos on from the front

Foglights output (still warming up)

Headlights:

Output, yes my driveway is on a slight hill.

Gauges:

Output!!!!:

Cutoff line (not the best pic but it was a creepy area)

Ballast Locations:

Fog light ballasts
For these I relocated the horn and used another spare hole on the drivers side to mount the ballasts to

Headlamp ballasts
Tucked neatly away in the inside of the fenders

Daytime: Headlights/Foglights

Daytime: Tails

The inside of your car reminds me of Knight Rider. Great looking car.

Ha ha I had to go and look up what the original interior of Knight rider looked like. I can see the comparison LOL. Most people say it reminds them of a cockpit. I still have to install my wideband and pick up a scangauge and a TT.

Retro headlights are amazing. They make such a difference at night its ridiculous.

04RedSrt-4: Thank you and I'll keep that in mind LOL.

Eblueskittle: My gauge is an electronic gauge, I can't speak for all boost gauges, but I am under the assumption most all are electronic with built in sending units. Mechanical gauges have kind of fased out in a sense, as with oil or fuel gauges, no one wants oil or gas lines running into the cabin of their vehicle. Here is my gauge:

I didn't buy one from him. I used another kit and bought new bulbs for it. It took long enough for the retro (JUST to be aimed/sealed) and that failed, I wouldn't be surprised if the HIDs did as well.

Why are your headlights aimed so high? From the pics it looks like they are pointed up.

They're not pointed up, I've done everything I can and its the nature of the projector. When I pull up behind a car, my lights are below their bumper, but as they pull away they get a bit higher. I'm not sure why that is, but if I aim them any lower I can't see (I almost hit a deer). They don't blind people, I've driven by my car with them on, and they get noticeably less bright as you get closer to them (like most projectors). They are basically where Chris put them initially, below the first line on the garage door. I can see, I don't blind people and I don't get flashed, everyone is happy.

If you're standing 30-50ft away like oncoming traffic there isnt light in your eyes? Thats what I would be worried about. Something isnt right with those projectors. Have you measured the cutoff @ 25ft? They should drop about 2 inches at that distance to get the most light on the road without blinding anyone else. I would check in with the people at hidplanet and see what they say. They could probably help you out. Ive seen lots of pics with those projectors and they throw alot of light on the road without being pointed that high.

When I drove by it, they didn't blind me. The only thing that concerned me is the dark lines on the bottom. I was told those were how the projector was and I could try to spin the bulb, but theres nowhere to spin it to. As for the aiming, its the best its going to get, so I can see. And it doesn't blind other people.
