Question retint tails?

I've had my tails tinted for a while and they are starting to fade quite a bit with exposure to the sun... I was wondering if anyone knew a good way to retint them without screwing them up? btw ive got about 3-4 coats of niteshade and a few coats of clear... just fyi
thanks

I took all my lights out to wax my car about 3 months ago and gave them all a fresh coat or 2 of extra nightshade and clear and they came out great. No sanding or anything just a few lights coats over what was already on there.
