Removing Nightshades
Not sure where the hell to post this. I'd like to remove the NightShades on my taillights and redo them.
What exactly do I use? I've heard Off bug spray.. Ammonia..
Any insight?

Acetone will remove it. As will carb cleaner, brake cleaner, etc.
Acetone will be the most plastic & paint friendly solvent though.

Brake Cleaner is your best bet. Carb cleaner eats plastic. If the lens looks frosted after removal, simply pick up some rubbing compound and polish, and it will bring its luster right back.

i wish i would have seen this before now... i would have told you not to use acetone.
I used acetone on some plastic taillights before and it messed them up... The acetone softens the plastic and makes it look like it is frosted
you can fix it by buffing the tail lights with a good compound after wet sanding though
