Exclamation Red LEDs in the headlight

Does anyone know if it is legal to have red LEDs instead of the orange blubs in headlights?
I wanted to have red leds when the headlights are on and orange for the turn signals
I thought it would make the car look mean/angry with the eyelids
Maybe a single red led in the middle with orange leds around it

Anything on the front of your car concering RED/BLUE/GREEN is considered illegal because its reserved for emergency vehicles. Whether or not a cop pulls you over or not is his decision since its more paperwork than anything.

I have LED's in the front of mine and yes they are illegal to have, unless you are parked and have them only for show and not while you are driving....... I would never do that..... What I did was put red LED's in the headlight and orange in the blinker to offset the red, I am also going to wire in a red in each foglamp as well. As soon as I can barrow my brothers digital camera I will upload the pics of what it looks like..... It's sick looking at night. I also put in a bypass so I can have my fog lights on whenever I want. No more of that if high beams on fog lamps off crap!! I live in Cali and if any one lives in the Southbay and wants to check it out let me know, my friend and I are putting kits together as we speak.... oh yeah all of the stock functions of the car are intact.

I have red lights in the front turn signals as well as the side corners. The funny part is that I got pulled over for it about a 1.5 years after I had them. That same day after I got pulled over, I was pulled over again about 15 mins later. So after 1.5 years, I got pulled over twice on the same day. Anyway, I got a fix-it-ticket. I put the amber ones back in and took it in. The cop looked at the ticket and my car and asked what was wrong with them initially. I told him I had red lights and he said he would've never pulled me over for that. The red lights have been back on since.

DO NOT BUY FROM ICEMAN! Charged for CAI June 31, 2004, got product months later, & returned CAI due to fitment issues October 5. Never recieved my refund. I was told that the refund was not processed b/c I spoke out against them. Iceman gave no response to my BBB complaint (http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104420).
