i also met up w/ some neons this past wknd.
one used a 15" neon bar and mounted it behind the console, the space betw the driver and passenger footwell.
another guy use small neon lights, tiny bulb-size. he positioned them so that they create a circle of blue light which then fades as you expand beyond 6" diameter. way easier to mount than a 9" cathode tube.
he also mounted the switch for the lights in the glove box. there's a hole there (right side of the box, opposite the trunk button) that fit the switch perfectly.
