Red Gauge Cluster Help

I want to install red led lights in my gauge cluster. I already have the lights but when I installed them they are not bright enough to shine through the green film that is already on the cluster. Has anyone swapped out the factory lights and installed red ones. If so what did you do to make them work out good. Can you do a write up on it. Also has anyone takin apart the gauge cluster? Cuz I am thinking if I take apart the gauge cluster I can sand off the green film so the red LED lights shine through better and brighter. If you have taken apart your gauge cluster can you give me a detailed writeup or a link to one. Thanks guys!

you have to scrape the green film off the back if you want it to show through red.

anyone know where to buy a new gauge cluster panel ?
I'm looking for white, with red coming through.
