Default question for hak or anyone else that knows about hids

ok i put my hids in my new projectors. they are 6000k. i know 4300k is the best, but i like the little bluish tint of it. anyway, i put them in, (wiped with rubbing alcohol to be safe) and one is really good. very nice cutoff, but the other one isnt really looking like it should. theres like a brownish blob in the middle. not too bright, but i can notice it on a light surface, and the cutoff is a brownish yellow color. is it a bad bulb maybe? whats going on?

thanks
-mike

This is probably because the focal point is off. It's typical of kits when dealing with projectors that rely on the focal point to be exact, expecially with HID.

Also make sure the bulb is seated correctly and is flat.

Yes, thats what he means........but, these projectors are mod-able......you just have to be careful, but you can reach inside the projector with your finger and LIGHTLY bend the shield towards where the bulb sits, away from the lense.......make sure you do one at a time, so you can adjust one to the colorband you like, then do the other.......if you don't know what I'm talking about, don't try it, and go do some reading.
