Default projectors + hid question

ok so ive done some research on here about hid lights, and it seems that the best way to go about them, is to get some projectors for better light output and safety, etc. anyways my question is, if i purchase a 6000k hid kit, would i be able to install it with these projectors or something similar: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-05...QQcmdZViewItem

just a sidenote, i am on a tight budget here, and i want to upgrade my headlights, so any information would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

I am by no means an expert (ahem).

But from what I can tell, you can get the projectors from ebay (like the ones you posted), and get an aftermarket HID kit. You will have to assemble them yourself, and it may require moderate (or significant) modification on your part. The HIDs will probably not fit right out of the box, so you will need to modify the headlight assembly by increasing the size of the light mounts.

Hopefully, this will give you some idea of what you are looking at. If you can find them, some eBay vendors sell the headlight assembly that you are looking at, but with the HID kit already installed. Then it's a simple plug-n-play install. (This is the route I went, but it will cost you well over $400).

Hopefully one of the HID experts will chime in and correct me where appropriate.

Srt4g, you need to use HID projectors and do the retro. Not ebay or halogen designed projectors. That is the only way you're going to get proper beam distribution and safe lighting.

I used to provide them but no longer do.

a vendor on here used to offer them but has ceased taking in orders until next year.

So you other option is to do it yourself. You save hundreds of dollars that way since you wouldn't have to pay for labor. There is a how-to in the how-to section to get you an idea. There is also www.hidplanet.com/forums to get you up to speed and plenty of memebers to help you with advice there.
