Default Problem with HID after exhaust install

Hey guys,

So I installed my HID's this weekend right before I installed a 3 inch TBE. Now when I first checked the lights, they were working pretty good. In Canada our daytime running lights are our fogs and when we turn on our lights, they go out and the headlights go on.

Now, as soon as I turn on my car, the HID's come on.

Anybody have any thoughts? Is it that the computer isn't liking the 3 inch since I don't have a cat?

To be honest, when I first started up the car.... cylinder 1 and 2 didn't have the spark plugs fully engaged... so, the car was weird... but I fixed that problem very quickly...

Any thoughts would be appreciated... I have to get the stage 2 in so the computer won't be pissed about the cat LOL

sounds like you wired in your HIDs into your DRL. You need a relay and wire it off the purple wire & you should be fine.

Hey man, I actually have it off of two relays =) I have the morette lights... and it worked totally find with that one installed. And then if is running off of the lows on that one. It did work totally fine when I first installed them and tried them out... just the high beams needed to be checked on one side... there was one wire that didn't have a ground to hook it up to.

This only happened when I installed the exhaust. So I am wondering when it misfired because 1 and 2 were not firing... it was shaking pretty hard obviously... so I don't know if there is a relay or something that I might have shorted out. I don't know if it would default to the low beams coming on if the car is in "limp home" mode. As from what I hear the car pulls timing and everything if it is the stock PCM and a non-catted 3 inch due to the backpressure issues......

lol, any thoughts that you can have would be awesome! Its just that they worked fine when I first installed them. I am hoping I didn't catch anything when I took off the lower heat shield... but there is no wiring that should be in that area... as it would totally just melt!!!

I just checked... and they are coming on even with my high beams.... so the low beams are always on right now... they won't turn off????? Any help would be AMAZING!!! Is there any fuses or relays that would make this happen?

Okay... so good news!!!! I just pulled out all the fuses and reinstalled them..... and the HID's aren't coming on all the time anymore, it is back to normal... but the fogs aren't coming on... now it seems like just a fuse issue.....

Okay.... so new update:

1 - When the HID's turn on (sometimes randomly... so I am going to pull everything out and look for a loose connection) they won't turn off until the car is totally turned off

2- the fogs don't come on as daytime running lights, but they will come on manually if the lights are on

So I am thinking maybe a relay somewhere... but not sure! Could just be a bad wire somewhere....

If you'd make a microsoft paint diagram of how you have it wired and what you've tapped into, it would be much easier to see if its your wiring faulty or if its install error or maybe just bad HID kit components.
