Default possible dumb/newb question

My driver's side headlight flickers at night every time I go over a little bump in the road. The headlight is a little loose but would this cause the flickering? Or does the bulb need to be replaced? Or what else could it be? I haven't had time to get out there and try to fix it yet, so please no flaming, I already feel like a newb asking this. Thanks for any advice.

Check your wiring, turn the headlight on, stick your hand back there and see if you can replicate it.....or you can do it the easy way and switch the bulbs, see if it continues.......

dont feel dumb. sometimes the smallest things will have the smartest people stumped. like neonlite10 said, id check for any loose connections in the wiring and also check for any wires that may have gotten wet.

Thanks, I will check for lany loose wires and now that you mention it I did drive in the rain with no fender liner on that side, so the wires may have gotten wet.
