LOL no way. The stock halogens dither or fizzle out much sooner that say my TL's. With my TL hybrids I can have my beam (upper step) completely parallel to the ground and shoot my cutoff over 1/8th mile long. The reason why I can shoot my beam further besides the fact its HID is because with a projector, you have a sharp cutoff so your able to aim in a way that no light above the cutoff will blind anyone. With reflectors, halogen or HID, the beam isn't nearly as controlled so it just scatters everywhere and can't emit that distance nearly as efficient or safe because it wold get into anyone and everyone's eyes.

yeah im aware of everything you said, the beam on the picture looks a lot longer, but just wanted to make sure, yeah obviously with a cutoff you can aim higher because you will have no glare at all. Man you gotta start taking orders again man, damn im eager to get them already, by the time your ready again you said after fall, i'll have the money for sure so then you can guide me the rest of the way. But one thing if I wanted to do TL's I dont have to buy the projectors right? I would just have to buy the lights only right? Also, after I place my order approximately how long would it take to complete them, I know I will have people in front of me and that it takes time, but its just a curiousity question.

I never proviuded the TL projectors. Those were always provided by the people wanting those type of retros since I only bought specific units hidplanet carried. TL retros aren't as demanding as other retros so the time it takes to work on those is less than others. As far as approximate times go, well that I've learned is never a good thing to quote on because things in this line of business can get held up and jumbled quickly. All it takes is one or two peoples tedious more demanding retros to throw the whole "schedule" for others off considerably. Its not their fault at all because that is the projectors they want but some do take more time to complete than other. Essartee's colormatched retro was a big hurdle and took up a good chunk of time, more than I would of liked but his demanded alot more than any other I've done thus far because of all the little details. So its just hard for me to put a timeline on something hand and custom made. Typically say if no one elses retro was infront of your, a TL would take me maybe 2 weeks to complete given no other normal family-related things in my life interfers.

Between $250 and $400 just for the projectors. Start looking for them on forums and ebay.

There is no such thing. Unless you own a car that comes from the factory with OEM HID.....i.e. Lexus IS300, Infiniti G35, Acura TL, etc etc

Here is a video that was brought to my attention on hidplanet. Shows how bad lighting can get when you place HID into a halogen designed housing http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/videos/...enon_test.html

hak thats a great video, I wish more people were aware of how bad it is to do a drop in kit.

sort of on the same subject... littodevil has had my headlights for over a year now for a bixenon retrofit, but he hasn't even started. are you up for the job? I could have him send you the housings, they're for a new Grand Cherokee. If you're too busy maybe you could recommend another retrofitter?

thanks!

If these pics don't prove how worthless having high kelvin, let alone a HID kit, is than I don't know what will. This is completely for the retards
