Default Painting Headlights

anyone ever did this? open up the stock headlights and paint em black like a black housing sorta kind of thing?

Ive seen some ppl have done it.. It looks good but then they have problems with water seeping in etc.

pm 'haknslash' he will guide you to doing it correctly.

you could open them up if you bought a second set of depo headlights... otherwise it will be tough to get them open... using the oven method won't work for the stockers..

the sealent doesn't get loose with heat - you'll just melt the headlamps... maybe if you used a dremel all the way around or something....

I just finished mines... I painted the Complete Turn Signal Housing Black to make the leds look better...

Ugh... I'm upset.

I want the black inside and chrome centers, but I want it to be able to withstand HID bulbs later... The black ones online aren't HID compatible, must be cheaper plastics.

Please elaborate. which ones? Modern has depo headlights that many have used for HID retros...
asfor not being compatible, that doesn't make any sense... HID projectors actually run cooler than halogen bulbs, despite any logic to the contrary...
