Default painted eyelids...

currently i have some s-style eyelids on my car but they are pretty messed up cuz i drive a lot on the highway and a lot of small rocks hit the eyelids and now i got holes in the eyelids.......my question......has any1 ever tried painting their lights instead of fiberglass or paper??? would the paint hold up with the heat of the light??

i suppose you coudl do this but it would require scratching up the light for better adhesion, taping it off (removing the light), and then painting it. Not even sure if all that woudl work. I wouldnt do it
