Default No Headlights....How much is a new switch?

About a year ago I put cheap highwatt bulbs in and my lights didn't work for two days but then they did and were fine for over a year. About a month ago the lights would not come on if I turned the switch all the way but if I slowly turned it half way I could get them on but they would then randomly turn off while driving. I should have got a new switch then but I forgot. Now Im screwed because as of 3 days ago they wont come on at all. I can pull back on it and have the brights on but only if I continue to hold it and Its kinda hard to drive like that. Anyway I havent called a dealer yet but does anyone know how much a new switch will be? and is there a better one? I heard someone used a Jeep liberty stalk so the foglights can be on without the headlights on? Any info would help.

Well, you are experiencing the same problem i had with cheap bulbs, and you need to replace your switch and your headlight switch harness, remove the top steering column cover, and check the harness that plugs into the multifunction switch. Mine was fried and i had to replace the harness, i got lucky because i got the hookup for the harness at $20. Otherwise the entire wiring harness is over $500. I'm pretty sure your harness is melted at one corner... let us know...
