My 15a fuse blew for my dashboard light. I replaced it like 5 times and each time the fuse blew as soon as I tried to turn the lights on. Headlights good. Fog lights good. I can put a 20a fuse in but as soon as I accelerate, the fuse blows. Please help me out.
PS..the turn signal, gas light, CEL all work.

Check all grounds in the car, or any wires that are exposed and making contact with metal. Check the plug on top of the steerling column to see if its melted. YOu will have to remove it to examine it properly. Report back after that.
i had this same problem and it turned out to be that it was that "easy fog light mod", the one where you cut wires and switch them around. well i put the wires back to normal and thats it, that 15A fuse didn't blow out again.
Not saying this is your prob. But the same thing happened to me about 2 months ago and it ended up being my cluster... Suposidly one of the drivers that's on the board was bad. But hope that's not it cause there not cheap!
So I checked my alarm system and one of the fuses blew..replaced it and lights stayed on for a lil while then 15a fuse blew. The connectors to my multifunction switch are not melted however one of them is cracked. Could that be it? I dont wanna buy a whole new multifunction switch or a new instrument cluster. Neither is cheap.
Ok seriously I need help. its been too long driving with no tail lights, dash lights, side markers, or HVAC lights. I checked all the connections on the multifunction switch and none are melted. Is there anything else I need to check? All grounds are secured from what I can see with the naked eye.
i know its gonna cost money and i'm sure you probably don't have a warranty on your car, but try out the dealer and see if they can find the problem. i can only think that it is shorting out some where and keeps blowing out that fuse.
ok now i'm having the same damn problem again, keep blowing out 15A fuses in the 15 socket, thought it was the led's in my cluster so went back to stock, with the stock lights now in and a new 15A fuse, everything was running fine for about 5 mins. and then the fuse blew out again. this sucks.
Do you have an alarm? I do. I have a CompuStar and I am hoping that thats the problem. Cause I dont have any light mods and my multifunction switch is not burnt

it has to be a ground then. this is going to be a pain in the ass seriously but you need to follow each ground and make sure there are no stripped connections that may be shorting out.

i hope i am not jinxing myself by posting this but i may have found my problem. i forgot that i had left 2 wires unhooked from my old VEI boost gauge when I un-installed about 2 weeks ago. So I had a positive wire that was still connected to the 12V plug and a negative wire still grounded and maybe these were the wires shorting out my cluster and tail lights because today after taking out those wires, i drove to work hitting many bumps on the way cause Maryland roads suck and going at least 60 mph and everything worked fine. I just got home from work and using the same roads and same speed and still everything worked fine. Hopefully it'll be like that for a long time.
Whats crazy about is I have A VEI boost gauge now. And just the other day, the gauge starting resetting itself everytime I turn the car on. Like the zeroes circle around on the gauge then it starts reading vac/boost. I will check my gauge and see if I have any loose wires. I hope so. I'm glad you posted about the VEI gauge
