Again, please do not discuss where to purchase items from non-vendors when we have vendors offering these services.
So we cannot discuss where to get an item that is not supported by the vendors here at the forums ? If it was available through a vendor here , at a competitive price , I can see your point . But the option discussed in this thread is NOT available here , nor is there a equivalent alternative , which you yourself have implied .
Is discussing where to get the spring for the "spring mod" not allowed on the forums because vendors here sell MBCs ? Can we steer other4 members towards Flight Systems unlimited to get there staged ECUs reflashed , or should we tell them that since a vendor here , AGP , sells a ECU , we cant discuss that here .
Its too bad no vendors want to carry these , because I have yet to see a lighting solution that is considerably better than stock that doesnt cost the same as a mortgage payment on my house . Or am I missing an option that a vendor here has to offer ?
I guess Ill keep searching the web .
I mean no disrespect , LilSparkPlug , I will respect your wishes , but I just had to speak my mind about this .
Speak your mind freely, I don't make the rules I'm here to enforce them.
The Admins didn't want the links in this thread, this thread was initially completed deleted. I brought it back and edited it to reflect research on a product so that you guys could at least READ about them. This is considered a retrofit, vendors here offer retrofits though they are considerably better than this. The vendors pay to be here, so the rules reflect that services get forwarded to them before they get forwarded outside the site. It is only fair.
Now...no one offers this exact projector, but it is still relatively new. ND4SPD could consider carrying them, who knows only the future will tell. But we still have vendors offering retrofitting services.
If you want to complain about the rules of the forums, please take it to PM. Don't clutter this thread with it. Like I said, I don't make them. Non-vendor advertising is not allowed per the rules of the forums. The line is thin and it's at the discretion of the admins what to delete and not to delete. I always ask before deletion so it's not just one of us...it's the mods/admins as a whole that decide if something stays or goes.
Soooooo. can a vendor here give me a pair of these? or can someone pm me a link to these cause i searched on ebay all i can find are the shity g1s no g3s. and i wanna order them by tom so if anyone can send me a pm plz do so plz

I don't think anyone has even looked into carrying these yet. It's such a new product and it seems to only be available direct from China or, in some instances, from Cali (which still means that it may be a bit before you see other US vendors carrying them).
I know that John (-ND4SPD-) and I are working on our own system that would make retro-fitting the Neon a snap, and it will have some more visual flair than these do. So I doubt that either of us will jump on board for these anytime soon

What will ballpark pricing look like though? I couldn't see spending over $200 bucks total for retro. Many of us cant afford to trade off a mortgage or 2 car payments for headlights right now, (or bother trying to talk the wife into spending that kind money right now..) when $200 is totally doable.
It will probably be more, but that's mostly because the projectors themselves are more expensive (as they won't be China direct product). But it will be far less than the traditional retro. Maybe around 400-600 depending on your choice of components.
Probably not as the dimensions appear to be much larger than that of the projector those come with.
x2...the only projectors i know of that will fit in the mpx headlights without hacking giant holes are the acura mdx projectors.
Milkit18 and I both did retro's on the mpx headlights at the same time(well, i started mine after he did lol)...he used the mdx projectors, i used e46 retro

That is entirely too expensive for me , and many others . Way out of the price range I can get into right now .
As far as these "G3" conversions , From what I have heard , they have yet to be fitted into a neon headlight yet , so the question as to whether it fits is still unanswered , as far as I know .
Im not happy about the fact that this site puts the profit margin of the vendors above all else , the wants/needs of the members seem to mean little here .
I need better lights , I cant afford a profesional retro . Period . So I guess I just have to drive around with dangerious lighting , putting myself & others at risk , so somebody can make an extra buck or two . Great .
Can somebody post up confirmation as to how they fit in our headlights , when/if that happens .
To the vendors , I WILL buy these if they fit & price point is good . Just the kit , not a completed retro . I will not buy a $500 retro , I dont care how good it is .

Wait, what?
I hear you about the price of retros. But remember, part of that price includes a set of fresh Neon lamps. You can shave about 130-140 off that price if you were to supply your own lamps for the retro.

So buy a set of G1's they are only $107 shipped (you just need ballasts.), and still blow away any car on the road still running halogens. especially @ 55watts, and they look alot cleaner in the neon lights than the G3 would.
Yes , I consider stock neon lighting F'n dangerous . When it rains at night , I drive my wifes 2000 protege , it has stock lights that actually work . I can see whats going on MUCH farther down the road than in my Neon .
Im not bashing anybodys work , you guys have done some awesome retros ! I simply cannot afford it this year .
One of the tought parts about a proper reto is the fact that a new set of lights must be purchased if your SRT is your daily driver . That or you drive around without headlights while you wait for your retros . Not possible .
If I do retros , I will prolly attempt it myself . on my current headlights first . Thats what makes this option so useful to me . Seems you could heat off the lenses . mount projector , reglue lens , then reinstall . That means you could do this at home & be back on the road that night . No extra headlights , No figuring out the conversion as you go , no multiple test fittings , ect .
Crimsonghost , I was not aware the G1s were superior to our lights . I wonder if they are as good as the G3s . I honestly dont care too much about looks , shrouds , ect . Once I can see better at night , Ill worry about that .
