Default New ebay projectors have terrible fitment, pics inside

Well, i got my ebay projectors about a week ago and got around to installing them this weekend. Got the beams all adjusted and I must say the light output is very impressive for the price (compared to stock).

Anyways, the fitment, as with most aftermarket lights from ebay, is terrible. There is a VERY noticeable gap between it in the bumper. In fact, the gap is so wide that even with the stock rubber gaskets around the light, it still can't cover it up.

Here are some pictures to show what i'm talking about, and I am also asking for any suggestions as to how I can get rid of the gap. I have an AGP Race intercooler and never notched out the bumper like the instructions said, but a lot of other people have installed it without notching and their lights looks fine, so I'm confident that's not the problem.

On to the pics:

did you file down the pegs on the back so they fit into the holes? if you are looking at the drivers side headlight from the back, it will be on the top left. look at the stockers and see that the peg on the new one is too fat to slide in the hole on the car. i had that gap at first too because the peg is next to the hole, not in it.

Yeah, I did.
Although, even if I hadn't file them down, that would push the headlight out too far, instead of leaving a large gap.

I need to find a solution...

i remember when i was origionally putting mine in, i ended up with a gap like that, but then i took it out and put it in a different way, not sure how i can out it in a different way, but it went in. try lining up only the bolt by the radiator and not the back one. that may be it, on my passenger side one, the top bolt wont go in because the piece is about 3mm short. crappy, buy what do you expect from japan.

true, yeah, i'm going to give something like that a try, because I really cannot stand that. My entire car has been repainted, and it is mostly flawless; and then there is that shitty gap that allows you to look down at the foglight harness :-/

If that doesn't work, I'll have to find some way to mold plastic onto it or find a way to at least black it out.

Anyone else have any luck getting a better fitment?
Thanks.

It looks like you forgot the rubber gasket from the stock lights. Take it off and put it on the new lights. I might be wrong so someone else chime in.

I plan on getting those same lights hopefully soon, good to know the light output is at least on par with the stockers (if not better). Does anyone have a couple shots with em on their car I can see?

yeah, it hits, but only at the bottom, doesn't seem like that would be the problem because the lower portion hitting shouldn't be enough to push the top out that much...can't really figure out what to do for better fitment.

can you take some pics with the hood open of how the lights sit in the car, like from the side and back and above

shirotor4: output with the halogens it comes with is pretty good, there is a nice clean cutoff, and with hids, its awesome

Can the folks that actually own the projectors chime in to see if this a common problem cause If I am not wrong this guy seems to be the only one that I have found that had problems fitting the lights....
