Default Need a lighting GURU's opinion

I just ordered an HID kit (10K) from VVME.com. I was planning on ordering the Modernperformance projector housings to put them in, however I ordered 9007 HIDs and the projectors are H1s. So my question to you is what you do? Should I just run the HIDs in the stock housings or should I sell the HIDs and buy H1 and the projectors? Is there someone who can make a projector housing headlight that will take the 9007 HIDs for fairly cheap? Give me your honest opinions guys.

Thanks,
Nate

I had 9007 HID's before I bought the modern lights and I just bought a set of H1 bulbs and they plugged into the 9007 ballast. I think most standard HID kits have the same plugs.

Nice, appreciate the quick response. Anyone else have any good ideas?

Yeah, don't expect good light output with 10k.

I'd skip the cheap-o projectors and just use the stockers or find a set of retro's (although that's an expensive option).

I am on my 3rd set of retros due to condensation problems

I did see someone got the Modern projectors and swapped out the projector w/ another and the light output was 100x better!

that was me...ya, the light output is 100x better than stock(stock headlights or prjectors), but doing a retrofit on them wasnt very easy, i had to hack a LOT out of the headlight to make projectors(e46) fit. Other projectors might not need that much taken out, but it is do-able. here is the thread where milikit and I post photos and stuff of the halo retrofit

I would like to do a set of retro's but don't want the hassle's that come with them. I may just try the stockers and see how they look. The only thing I am affraid of is the cops nailing me for being toooo bright. IDK we'll see what happens when they get here!!! Thanks for all the info guys, it's greatly appreciated.

Yep you guys are who I was referring too...BIG props to both you guys for being the first to do it!

I am on my 3rd set of BoostJunkies retros due to condensation...if I can't get these to work out I might be going the same route as both you guys.

I'll just about bet everything I love that you're getting leakage from the turn signal gasket/ area. Very common on all depo/ eagle eye headlights regardless if they're brand new or have been opened up.

I am using the stock signal and gasket to prevent any leakage...When I sealed up the outside even more it drastically changed the condensation problem...I am up to 1 week with now leakage. That is with some rain and a car wash.

What do his retro's go for if you buy just the headlight unit itself, not including the HIDs (since I already have some comming!!)? I may look into a set of those if they are reasonable and just seal the shit out of them before I install them.

somewhere between 600-900. Depends if you want to TSX (only low beam) or the TL (both low and high)

SUPER BRIGHT LEDS home

^^ Every light you ever need, at good prices and fast shipping. I can even get them bulk shipped at a much lower cost since I'm pals with the owner.

Tried one of ByVamps kits...and just fucking
