Hack,
Great work I love those projectors I should have opt for those instead of the E55’s. I’m not digging the abs cover but great light output …

I read this entire post and had to mention that

DUDE YOU ARE AWESOME!

If I wasn't ordering Stage 3 I'd offer you some serious bribe money to part with you hard work.

Thanks Noid

After giving it some thought guys, I think we can come to some kind of agreement on me making these for you all if your interested. You will need to buy some DEPO oem replacements from modern performance or anyone else that carries them. You will also need to buy some HID projectors of yuor choice, preferably you will want a bi-xenon HID rpojector because you want low and high beams. Then ship them to me. I'll oopen them up and do everything including what will be properly aimed when its shipped back to you. Just let me know if anyone wants in.

Looks like I have some HID research to do because I don't know which ballasts to buy. I already have the aftermarket shells, so I'm like 1/16th the way there
I might be up to send mine to you and pay for your expertise. Any tips on ballasts for now? I'm looking to get great light output, with maybe a hint of blue, but I'm most concerned with light output. I just don't want to blind to many people though. Thanks!

I guess by shells you mean the bulbs or more correct, the capsules lol. But if thats the case and you have some aftermarket ones, it really depends if you bulbs have the standard oem P32 connection or if its like most aftermarket kits and has two high current wires coming out of it that attach to two high current wires coming from the aftermarket ballast. If thats the case and they are also rebased, they will not fit in a HID projector due to the base of it not being the same. ONLY oem HID bulbs can fit in oem HID projectors. The aftermarket bulbs have bases that are made to fit on halogen sockets unlike those found on true HID projectors. As far as ballasts, the Hella Gen 3 has the integrated ignitors and are less of a ordeal to put in, especially with our limited space available behind the headlights. If you don't want to blind people with glare and want true HID performance, then a retro is the only way to go. You will get far better results in performance both in output, colorband (which you only get with projectors), even beam pattern and so on not to mention a crisp cut-off to eliminate any glare issues caused by halogen reflectors.

Actually by shells I meant the DEPO oem replacements. I don't have parts for HID yet. I'd like to buy a complete kit, and will be checking out hidplanet.com I still need a bit of an education though. Going to read the FAQ and hopefully figure out what HID stuff I'm going to need, and I may be sending you all my stuff soon...

Well looks like two of us will be doing retro's here in the forums. I have an ongoing thread. I've been waiting form my damn projectors to get here but it seems like everyone is giving me the run around on them. As you know, bi-xenon projectors with a good ballast/bulb combo can get to be pretty pricey. And also the part to make it all plug-n-play isnt easy either. You've done a wonderful job with your retro. I should have my projectors here soon (according to my supplier) so we'll see how it goes. I have prices/options up and i'm making very little profit as someone pointed out. Also, make sure you become a supporting vendor because you know how moderators get when you try to sell stuff without being a supporting vendor.

Awesome job ! A+ work in my book

Alex

Thanks!

Note, for convenience, I had removed most of the retro pics and have provided all of the end result pics all on the first page on the first post. Too many pics where scattered around in this thread so I cleaned it up to make it easier for others to view. Still a 56k killa though

Do you have E55's (dull porojector bowl, 3" lens, black solenoid)? If so the solenoid should be in between the lower section of the lens and the shield. i used to have a set of those way back in the day.
