Default Mercedes s550 led+Srt tails=Awesome Free Project

Ok, got everything squared out. this is how i did it.Read bellow description for problem i encountered. I had 2 led boards from an mercades s550 which i soon came to realize they were for constant 12 volt for a brake or flasher etc. But as you all know our car has 1 bulb for three purposed (Flash,Brake, Running) i guess to save space, anyways I used the board for the running lights only and retained the bulb for flash and brake. this is not to say it was not possible to get 3 function from one led board but for some reason kragen and auto zone didn't carry normally closed 5 pin relays. So heres the pics, i also put in a 130 degree led for the reverse lights and painted the inside reflector i'll take some pics during the day to give you a better scope on what can be accomplished essentially for free.

Cliffs: ran into problem installing led board into stock tails but persistence paid off.

I split my tail lights to add a led board from an mercades sl55. the problem is our tail lights are used for three functions IE Running lights, brake lights and blinker.this led board is set up for constant 12 volt. so i was trying to connect the two positive wires to the positive led terminal and the negative to negative. this was making my electronics beep and what not. does anyone know if i could splice a transistor in to block voltage on either side. or could someone give me some insight on how the led boards that are sold for this purpose for out car soldered together

Please anyone i need help i don't have brake lights on my car and i need it for work tomorrow any feedback is appreciated

judging by what you were saying, you should be able to accomplish this easily with the use of diodes.

you would use the 2nd graphic down in the above pic. Basically line side (cathode) towards the board, using one diode on each wire.

I believe that should take care of your problem.

FYI: Incase you need a bit more info Blocking Diodes, Isolating Door Triggers and Sensors

add a capacitor inline to even out the load... idk why your lights on the dash are dimming... sounds like you may also need to add a resistor as well to keep your car from seeing a different load then the stock lights commonly put out... Measure the resistance of the stock setup and then the new setup and add resistors accordingly
