I recently purchased a 8000 kit HID lights from a local poster(uhohitzmikey). Bought them on Tuesday and had them in my hands by Thursday. Let me be the first to say - this install is simple. Again, no cutting/splicing or anything. I just removed my stock headlights and bulb assembly from the car...mounted the ballast's, ran the wiring .... installed the new bulbs in the headlight assembly and reinstalled everything. The two wires from the ballast just insert them into the low beam + wire and the ground wire into the OEM bulb harness and you are done. What a difference in color and appearance. Not too sure if visibility is better than stock, but it looks great!
the color looks great.
I was tempted to pick up a set of these but i couldn't pass on the deal i was getting on a set of phillips 4300K hids. I received them last week but haven't installed them yet. Probably today. I may lack the color but i think the light output will be well worth it.
Boggus, where did you put your ballasts? Did you use 3M super tough adhesive tape or did you screw mount them? The tape says its a permanent adhesive and that it is functional form -30 to 200 degrees F. I think it should be alright.
I mounted the ballast right behind the headlight. Inside the part where the headlight fits on the car. I used the screws to hold them down....wanted something more permanent. I will take pics of the beam pattern later (weather is rainy now) but I will post pics of the ballast install later this evening.
It seems to blue. Becareful of eye fatigue, blue is well known for that. Im about to pick up a 4100K kit, projectors, and if I the balls to do it; retrofit. How blue is the output on the ground? Everything might reflect blue a little. How about glare? If you want to know anything on HIDs, goto www.hidforum.com. They will help you out!
Boggus, please bring your car to the TeaWorks meet this Satruday night. I would LOVE to see the HIDs on the SRT. Go to houston-imports.com under Metropolitan section if you don't know about TeaWorks.

Post some pics when you get them in. You made the right choice sticking with the phillips 4300k. They are the brightest.

some people just arent looking for the brightest. your forget that color plays an important role in peoples decisions. no matter what the 8k still outperforms stock. to me it really doesnt matter which color people buy since i have 5300k, 6000k, 8000k, and 10000k available. its just some peoples prefrences go further than brightness.

Did I say that everyone is looking for the brightest? All I was saying is that you can't go wrong with phillips. geez
