i was actually considering this kit myself, but idk much at all about HID, projectors, etc... i did read the ENTIRE crash course thread, and after that i did notice right away that this kit does not have a relay, so i/you would have to pick one up...

you need to isolate the circuit. hids pull more amps then our stock lights. w/o one you could burn up the wires.

I run relays for both my head and fog lights and I still have an issue with my Multi-function switch/harness I can only imagine what it'd be like if I didn't run them.

Most HID ballasts draw more power on startup than stock 55/65W bulbs. After 30 seconds their current draw drops lower.

It's that inital inrush of current that needs to be tended to, which is why you should run a 14ga wiring harness, direct from the battery, to power them.

On my WJ, I did just that. NEVER had an issue with my HID ballasts. They've been working perfectly for a couple years now. I did a retrofit in a set of Anzo projector housings, using a Bosch e46 single xenon projector and Philips D2S 4100K burners.

My high beams have gone all glitchy (turn them on and all my lights go out). I'm pretty sure my harness is fuxored somewhere, I just can't find where yet. It's not that big of a deal considering I never use my high beams.

There's a 23,000V draw on the system for 6-10 seconds which is more than enough to fry shit! The factory system wasn't meant to handle that much.
