Default lighting wattage

What is our stock lighting wattage?

is 55/80w = 110/160 too much?

Anything higher than the standard wattage is too much. A standard wattage is about 55 / 65. There are many potential problems with going to a higher wattage. You could overload the electrical system, melt the wiring, melt the assembly or most importantly have an illegal beam pattern that is unsafe to other drivers.

Yes the stock system is at around 80% already.

If you elect to crank up the wattage, you will need to upgrade your lighting harness.

As long as the bulb draws 55 / 65, it will be safe?
Dose the output wattage matter too?

wattage is basically heat. As long as you run within the factory wattage range you should have no adverse affects on wiring or headlight housings.
