Default Lighting aftermarket gone for the Neon now?

I hate the current LED tails for the Neon. Their too flashy and a little tacky IMO. They look 10x better when the lens is painted transparent red. But I want something that looks closest to stock. Also there are no decent headlamp upgrades unless you want a black housing which look good but I want a off the shelf projector lamp that takes a HID bulb. (don't we all? )

I saw this and thought "wow" could this be a sign of more good things to come in the aftermarket lighting world? But then I remembered that the Neon never got much aftermarket support when the car was in production so now that the Neon is gone we probably still won't get any support.

These are TYC projectors with integrated Philips HID system! Damn would it be nice to see something like this come out for our car...

I also like these LED tails. They look OEM.

Too bad Honduh's get all the love..

you can get the tails and headlights made by those same companys. just need to realize that you would need 10-20 others who would also want em and cough up some dough up front.

companys are always looking for new revenue. like back when i owned a twin cam gsi storm, those kats wanted to get a good set of springs made. afew calls to a few companys and we had one company that was willing to custom make the springs if we had 20 people pay upfront. think of it as more of a group buy, but with something like this you would need to wait for R&D as well as DOT & SAE regulations to approve and call it road worthy.

Its a long shot but I highly doubt that companies like Depo or TYC would do "custom" tails or head lights for 10-20 people.

Exactly. People don't understand that it takes THOUSANDS of dollars just to make a design one plug needed for the mold. Let's not forget that companies such as DEPO and TYC also get their stuff DOT stamped so there is down time in product develop versus product release time. This also costs them thousands of dollars in testing and design revisions. 10-20 units sold at say oh, $200/unit would not be worth anyones time at all.

Springs are one thing. Winding a steel coil is hardly a good comparison.

HAK: you made the point that i was trying to get at. i just cannot find my words for some reason today. i remember there being some small company doing custom tails for a while but i cant recall the name for the life of me. either way i think its just easier and a lot more feasable to do the led tails yourself. and as far as the headlights go.. just another wishful thought.
