Well, it has now officially be done. I have no idea on the actual performance of these units. I have no idea how they are planning on solving any heat issues but never the less, here they are. The worlds first production car with LED headlights to hit the streets. Not sure if they can match or beat the current high end HID projectors out there but they do look cool. Too bad they won't have any cool start-up
Same here. I think the HID is going to perform and look better personally. I just think its cool LED technology is FINALLY getting to the point to where it can be used for a headlight. I need some beam pics badly though. If anyone runs across them, please send them to this thread!
infinity has something like that. looks like you're looking through a kalidascope
Nah, Infinit had the Q45 projectors made by Stanley. The were multi-focal proejctors that used multiple projector lenses and a complex reflector bowl. They were HID, not LED technology.
This is a retro from a member off hidplanet in his Vitz using Q45s..
Here are the Q45's in a newer Ford F150 retro of the owner of hidplanet...
I do plan on getting my hands on a set but they will be $$$$$$$ and a while before anyone wrecks one...then again its rated to have at least 450hp so maybe the old richies will wreck one soon enough
i do like HID over LED and I can pretty much guarantee the LED will not perform as great as HID currently does. Plus who can argue that start-up on HID isn't sex?!
Family time Got 50/50 with my kids, couldn't be happier. Good luck in all your endeavors.
Mad Props to PFI, RX, and Kevin Warren!!! http://myspace.com/cybr
Off topic,
Hey Hak what kind of premium do those Q45 projectors carry for a retro versus any other projector retro? I like the look how it fills up the headlamp housing, and likely has a larger point source, correct?.

They are a nice single xenon only projector. Their width is their most strong point. As you can see, they don't have the sharpest of cutoffs since there is several lenses focusing at different angles creating the beam pattern. They are pricey thoguh and mainly for their looks more than anything. They usually run around $380-450/pair. There are a few members here that are getting together parts for a Q45 retro to be done by me
