Default LED's in the window switches...

Someone had asked how to do it ..... I took the panel apart last night and opened the switches up.... drilled out the difuser that was in there (more room for LED that way) The wiring looks fairly simple.... I will finish it tonight since the LED's we were using to demo were a little to big.... but tops this should only take about an hour or so......hhhhmmmmm Once i am finished I will post pics with question and answer time if anyone is interested..... I'm just doing it because of the thread I was looking at here last week......

been there done that, VERY little room to work in there, and it doesnt like closing once you get all your wiring done, would be hella easy if there was a little more room in there to work, i may take another stab at it later but not right now

Are you sure about that? if the LED I was using last night was smaller I would have finished it last night???? Routing the wire seemed obvious once you had the switch open... then just wire it into the ignition power harness comming into the switch..... I really don't care if they are on all the time the car is on. But it would be a little more trick to wire it up to the headlight switch, hmmm???? Would take a little more time but shouldn't be too bad...... But then again I do build and test Satellites for a living and am used to tight tollerances and wire harnesses from hell.... Good luck if you try again and like I said if you need some help let me know..

seriously E, you should calm down man. He wasn't being rude at all, he was just asking about what you were using, because the LED stuff that he was using, and the way he was doing it seemed quite straight forward. If I was you, I would have asked him how he was doing it rather then telling him to calm down. JD, I will probably PM you in a couple months when I am doing this to find out how it went and what you were using.

I used 3mm leds. I didn't have to drill out the difuser.

There is a sticky how-to in this section already.
