can putting window tinting on a tail light be done?

I think it would have to be some pretty stretchy tint because of the curves in the taillight. I watched the guys tint my back window, and it took a lot of work with the heat gun to get the tint to conform to the curve of the glass, even though there isn't too much. And they still had to make a cut to get it to curve enough to match the glass. Check into the rockblocker stuff, or similar.

Also, I don't think the tint would hold up to the elements on the outside of the car. Plus car washing and what not.

best to get the spray stuff and maybe put a coat of clear on it.

yes u can. i have friends who have done this to their taillights for years. its better to get them painted or use the taillight film though. the paint will stay on there and can look glossy. but the taillight tint also adds some protection to it since it kinds renforces the taillight itself like the headlight film does.

Automotive "window" tint will not stick to the plastic. I've tried this on previous cars. You need the film that is for exterior use such as the film Rockblocker and many other companies sell....
