how did you mount the LED's? Do they just straight up or do u need to hook anything else up to them?

You need to solder them to a printed circuit board.

that's what i figured... did u just pick one up from radio shack and then cut it to size? Can you just hook it up or do you need to use any resistors or anything or do you need to figure that out? Sorry for bugging ya... i'd enjoy working on something like this.
