Default Is Ill Mac going to Die in a Fire (Part 2)

So I took out my stage 1 today and put my stock PCM and injectors in.

See here: Lets play: Is Ill Mac going Die in a Fire!?!?

So I get everything back in the car and go for a test drive. I turn on my headlights, and I instantly see both light up, then the driver side go out.

Long story short, here's what I checked:

1) Driver headlight out, but bright, fogs, hazards ALL WORK FINE. Tail lights and interior lights all work fine.

2) The light gave NO warning previous (dimming, flickering etc)

3) I have 2 spare bulbs: When plugged into the driver side, the bright works, but the regular light doesn't.

4) I pulled the fuse and it looked fine. <-- would anything else work anyway?

5) I check my MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH, here's what I found: It is a LITTLE toasted on the far left. The far 2 "holes" on the female end are a little melted. Under that there is a VERY small crack

It doesn't look nearly as bad as some of the other multifunction switches. In fact, I pulled the switch over 2 years ago (when I first read the "fire in dash!!" thread), and I'm pretty sure it looked similar (so long ago, I don't quite remember).

So what should I try? Should I go pick up a new multifuction switch? Is there a ground somewhere I could have knocked lose (something around the PCM since I changed that out)?

Would a bad fuse cause JUST one headlight to go out?

Ideas?

I believe each of the headlights and foglights have their own fuses in the interior PDC. RT and LT. Could be wrong but I can't check to verify (damn hip surgery).

One thing you didn't list there is the wiring harness. Did you check the harness itself where the bulb plugs in to see if any of the wires were pinched, frayed, melted, etc?? Just an idea.

And buying an MF switch couldn't hurt but I can't see throwing parts at something unless you are sure thats whats wrong.

Well, I only check the fuse under the hood.

Today (in the light) I swapped the headlight fuses and it now works. BUT the first signs people have of a bad multifunction switch is fuses blowing.

I'm replacing the fuse. If it happens again, I'll know I have a more serious problem....
