I got my Aeroforce Interceptor gauge today, and I was thinking of how I could mount it. I came up with and idea, which I hope I can describe.
I want to mount the gauge to the clear plastic that covers the stock gauges, right over the center of the tach. I held it there with my hand, and it does not block anything. You can see the needle and all the numbers around the outside. So, I think I could just get a small section of pipe from the hardware store, paint it to match, and mount that to the clear plastic like a gauge cup.
What I want to know is, first of all how hard is it to get the gauge cluster out? Is there anything I need to know to keep from damaging it? I imagine I will have to do this. Secondly, how do I separate the clear plastic from the rest of the assembly? I don't need to melt any epoxy or anything, do I? Does it just pop of or is it held on with screws?
Advice from anyone who has taken their dash apart would be welcome. Before anyone gets upset, I also want to add that I will go the junk yard and get the plastic cover - I never cut up my original parts!

cluster comes out easy....take out the 2 screws in the dash, one in each door jamb. pop the dash pad up....not too high unless you also remove the 2 screws in the defroster vent. once u get in there, there are 4 screws holding the cluster in. Take those out, and just pull the cluster straight out towards you. The clear plastic comes off real easy, a few torx screws and you're all set
