first get the right stuff Krylon Staind Glass paint, you can pick it up at Michaels, or any arts and craft store might have it, but I'm not 100% on that.
Second Remove your black fog-light surrounding
Third, tape up the area accordingly to compensate for overspray
Fourth, apply as many coats as you'd like till you get the desired yellowness, I used 4 coats (Special note: turn on your fogs to make sure they're the SAME color)
Fifth, peel tape off, replace plastic cover after it dries
thats it, now you have yellow fogs, takes only about an hour of your time
looks good i wouldve just gotten yellow bulbs and called it a day
That would have been easier and would have kept the car stock although I don't think we'll have to worry too much about that dropping the value--our SRT's don't have any. But they sure are a blast to drive!
Nice how to, i should have done it, i took my fogs out, i shouldnt have i just didnt want to chance any overspray, it was a bitch getting them aligned back... but thats the exact same stuff that i used
its not too bad, the stock fogs kinda sucked anyway once i upgraded to silverstars, so now i just basically have yellow lights but once i go to HID's it wont make any difference what kinda fogs i have
bro... will this hold up with the excessive heat coming from the bulbs?... please keep us posted (if it cracks or peels or chips off bec of road debris)... i just ordered the lamin-x yellow protective film for the SRT-4 (pre cut)... i'll try that and see how that goes... if it fails, then this will be my second option... thanks
I'll see how it holds up, if it doesn't hold up well I have some ricer yellow tint from auto zone that I'll apply, I just didn't feel like taking them out to do it so I decided to try this, was only 7 bucks and an hour of my time
the lights dont get that hot, and especially w/ the air moving across them while driving they dont get that hot even sitting there after about 10 min, you can still touch them, yes they are warm but not hot enough to melt, chip, crack, etc the paint off the lights
that stuff stains the glass, not just paints the yellow on there. You should have no probs on that at all, I've used it on bulbs themselves before and it never cracks.
