Please pay attention before you start that this is not the first time you handle a soldering gun...
The switches are very easy to open with a small screwdriver.
My translation under the pics could be inaccurate, my english is horrible.
Please help me with your comments.
Hope you enjoy my very easy HOW-TO.
You don't have to drill any holes, rewire your harness or such brute force things....
AND: The switches are ready for plug-and-play. You could prepare them and they'll work in every Neon without modifications.
HOW-TO for the door locking switch will follow...

Maybe you found a better way to do this but when I soldered the bulbs directly to the switch, the switches would all light like normal. But when I used the passenger window switch on the drivers side the light on the passenger side would go off. It would cut the power from the switch.
Thanks,
Steve

Hmm, could be. I don't have this problem in my Chrysler - in my harness is a white wire to illuminate the switches.
But - it is not that big problem.
Maybe you could use a driver side switch and modify the harness - or whatever...
Does our power window switch even have the ability to have led back lighting? Looked like painted on stuff to me.
Yes, all of the switches do. They are the same switches you find in other dodges. It is just dodge probably had to cut some corners to save money, so they put lights in only one of the switches.
I know the window/lock switches do.. mine all have leds in them. But does the mirror switch have them is my question.
The mirror switch does have the opening and contacts for the lights, but there is no bulb in there yet. I just installed the bulb in mine this past week. Took about 1/2 hour at most. Very simple. Read Legoman's how to for the Mirror switch, it was very good.
1st: you can buy the switches from dealership - you have to find switches for the bux models. And than you have to install an extra wire into the switch harness. That could work.
But: i have no idea how expensive those switches are. My way is quick and easy!
2nd: It is in english - look twice.
3rd: Found a way to illuminate also the power lock switches. Will add pics soon...
