Default HID vs SilverStars (or equivalent bright halogens)

I have never had a high power set of 9007 bulbs to compare to. I currently have a set of 6000K HIDs. I'm thinking of selling off the HIDs and replacing them with high power halogen bulbs.

How much light loss am I going to notice? Which are the brightest halogens? Silverstars?

Silverstars are about as bright as the stock ones. It's nothing more than a gimick.

Why are you wanting to get rid of the HID? You wanting high beams again?

Highbeams... and I could use the extra cash... I could probably sell the whole kit for $200 or more. And new bulbs would run me... $40? $60? I haven't really looked into it yet.

Using the HIDs and peopel telling me that I'm rolling the dice with smoking my MFS too... I get nervous every time I switch them on.

So even the brightest halogen bulbs aren't any better than stock?? Pretty much, I would have to keep with some sort of HID or projector to increase the light output? Is that the idea?

Thanks man... I appreciate the help

i've heard that theory and tested it keeping a stock bulb in one headlight ..

the silverstars are brighter , and are also a cleaner white light.. not that yellowish shit the stockers emit..

they are brighter.. i'll vouche .. ohh they run around $50 .. i have seen them for less, shop around....

Silverstar vs. stock w/pics

click the links for the pics.

I just switched to Silverstars from Nokya 7000k's Artic Whites. Silverstars put out more light on the ground than my Nokya's, but you don't get the bling/rice factor of the blue that the Nokyas have. $40 at Autozone

Ive been running the silverstars and my mother Lucille/Lucybop runs the stock bulbs...and everytime I drive her car at night, i have to completely readjust to the darker color of the stockers...the sylvanias are a much cleaner, much brighter light for the money and have a little bling factor for the pure white color...

I'm thinking I'm going to get rid of my HIDs... It sounds like I should have good visibility with just the 9007 SilverStars.

What do you gusy think I should list my 6000K DarkSyde Single Stage HIDs for?
