Default HID retrofit in progress

Hello fellas and fella-ets,
I am in the process of retrofitting the HID's off my friends wrecked S2000 onto my SRT. I went today and got the ballasts, wiring, and bulbs. One problem, one of the ballasts was damaged during the wreck, so it doesnt fire up. I have a friend checking the junkyard for another ballast and a WTB on S2ki.com for a ballast. If this works, I will do "how-to" on it. I wont be using the projectors. I am just gonna try to fit the bulb into our housing to begin with. We'll see what happens. If not, I will get some projectors off something (who knows what) and modify my housing to see if I can fit in a projector. More to come.....

Id go through with the projectors. The amount of glare you get from just having the bulbs in there is insane... and well blinding too! Take a soda can and cut two rectangles about an in wide and 2in long. Then roll it into a have circle, width wise so it looks like a "U" then slide that in and carefully put the bulbs in. Sorta like the product "Casper Shield"... cuts off the ugly yellow and reduces some glare. One more thing :P make sure the metal post that goes from the type of the bulb to the base is on the bottom. Also helps cut down on yellow color...

If you get the assembly apart, PM me on what temp you used in the oven. I have yet to get mine apart and its pissing me off.

Why go through all that trouble if all your doing is adding an hid bulbs to an oem housing? That is exactly what an hid kit does, am I missing something here?
