Default HID Relay Question

Ok, well i got a set of 8000l headlight and fogs both with relays. There is a 20amp fuse in the replay. They dont seem as bright as my old headlight kit and i wanna make em brighter. Will it ruin anything if i put a bigger fuse in the relay harness? And what is this white retangular block that gets really hot when the lights are on that is on the relay? or what can i do to make em brighter?

Putting a bigger fuse in the harness won't make your lights brighter. All that will do is up the amperage at which the fuse pops. Leave the 20amp.

Your best bet is to ditch the 8000ks since they are way worse than factory lighting and pick up some 6000s or 4300s which are FAR better at giving you good lighting than an 8k is. An 8k is simply too blue. The higher the kelvin rating the less useable light you have. Trade the bulbs out. Another isse you may be having is the fact that they are in a halogen housing and not meant to be there. The light is scattered almost everywhere but where it should be.

Well i had a set of GT 8000k HID's before and they were way brighter than my new kit. EFX Euro Effects 8000k. Which is supppose to be the brightest 35w kit in the world. according to them.

Maybe they were a different wattage. I can't see how one 35W 8000K is that much better than another. I would seriously swap the bulbs out and get a lower kelvin rating.

Now would the brand of the bulb take a effect in this purchase? If so, what bulb would be the best visability? and what kelvin? i always thought 6000k was the brightest

4300k is what OEM HID systems use.
6000k is called "diamond white" and while it doesn't have as much useable light, 5000k and 6000k still put out a nice light while giving you a "hint" of color.

The brand will not matter, as long as the two plugs that connect to the ballast are the same as the brand you currently have. You can pick up replacement bulbs through ebay for $30-40 shipped.

so 4300k is brighter than 6000k? And 1 question i think i hooked up my relays right. I put the power wire to the bolt that is in the fuse/relay box under the hood its a wire that comes off the positive line on the battery and the ground i grounded those both in the same spot as well on the car frame.

With 4300k you have more useable light and less nonsense color, so in essence it is brighter than a 6k or an 8k. And it seems as though your relay is hooked up okay
