I make them and I supply everything needed or sell it with the projector by itself. You definatly get the perfomance your looking for out of a TRUE HID system. Its worth every penny if your serious about you mods. Lucent Performance HID retro/customer info thread

Hak definitely does amazing quality work! Highly recommended if you got the cash to spend for 1st rate lighting

As for manufactured projector lights, Hella hasn't given up on their prototype. We're still waiting for ours to get back.

Hak's retros are definitely the best for our cars, but what about the projector you can swap any aftermarket hid kit into, is that the hella ones?

Darksyde was apparently working on them, and some other undisclosed source.

The issue with a projector using a plug and play kit is that the projector still won't be designed for HID use. More improtantly I've never seen a 9007 projector because a 9007 bulb is not made for that kind of use. A 9006 bulb can be used for that but it is only a low beam only bulb. I remember Jon from 4headlights mentioning to me about Hella producing a prototype version but I just don't see it having a good output if its going to use a 9007 bulb like the stock set-up does.

It may be my misunderstanding of what is to come...I thought this, that yes, since hids don't work well in stock headlamps, someone was developing a headlamp for the srt4 which did this job, thereby allowing any hid kit you wanted to put into the headlamp...but this may not exist except only in my mind...

I then read the talk about the hid projectors in the morettes thread..
Morette announces the E-Code Twin Headlight Conversion launch for the Neon / SRT4. and thought this hid projector talk was in relation to what I mentioned above...may not be.

like I said, if something better is coming, I'll save my money, maybe pick up a set of Lucent Performance tails for now

nobody is making a projector headlight that is going to be used for HID other than me that I'm aware of.

The Hella unit that is a prototype still at this time is made for a halogen bulb. I'm not sure if they plan on trying to design a 9007 projector to be used as the same bulb base as the stock halogen bulb and your rebased HID kits because that would be a first for the lighting industry LOL. 9007 just isn't the right bulb size for a projector so my guess is that they might be making it to have the standard size for a halogen projector and that is either H7 or 9006. Its one or the other if it were to be a projector that is real and designed for that use. However, throwing a HID kit in there is still not going to get you the correct beam pattern in most cases. Depending on the quality of the kit and if the rebase job was done with engineering of the correct focal point and return rod position (which they aren't ), then you won't have the correct pattern anyways. The only way to safely and correctly run HID in a projector is with use of a HID designed projector and OEM components that are specifically engineered to have exactly the correct focal point and give you the exact performance your expecting and then some.

The Morette unit was at one time talked about as coming out as a projector unit. Rally Performance fed everyone that lie/scam. When Morette found of this, they posted their prototype which was not a projector design but rather two round halogen reflectors. They are not projectors by any means.
