I tried a quick search but came up empty.
Has anyone replaced their fog lights with HID projectors?
Anyone think it would be worthwhile, could it be done?
I think you mis-understood. I do not want to replace the bulb in the existing foglight. I was wondering if it would be possible to replace the stock foglight with a projector lens/fixture? So when you need serious light you just hit the fogs.
what you could do is find a wrecked or something like wrecked GTO and take the projector fogs off that and put it on the SRT. if the GTO fogs are to big than sand the fitment to be good and drill mounts. and can cover the drilling or sanding by pushing the fog out further.
You might have to get some new fuses for the fog lights if you are planning on using the stock harnesses. I got the wrong HID's sent to me (9006 and our cars are 9007) and I tried them in the fogs harness, it worked for a second then the 10 amp fuse went. I think the headlights are 30 amp but I would go up to a 20 before I went to a 30. Just some food for thought.
Yeah, I had to do the same things with my HID headlights. The stock fuses were like 20amps but I had to go up to 30 to keep them working. I deffinetly agree that the stock Fog light fuses will be inadequate since these lights will probably draw the same load as the headlights.
