Default HID problem. Please Help!!!

hey guys, just ordered a set of hid's and I am having an issue with them. I know that i have a balast that is bad because i often have to flip the switch a couple of times to get one of them to fire up. Question is, they are a slightly different color, very slight, and im wondering if the weak balast can cause them to flux, or if the dumbasses sent me a bulb thats the wrong color.the difference is very minor, almost unnoticable. thanks all

I also had this same problem with my eBay HID projectors. The passenger side HID light would either a) not come on at all, or b) would come on, but cut off a few minutes later. It was also a little "greener" than the driver side.

I decided that I would pull the kit apart and look for loose connections, etc.

I layed the passenger light assembly out on the kitchen table, and started from the grey plug and worked my way down to the ballast, and then to the HID itself.

I unplugged each connection, cleaned it out, and reattached it. After installing it back in the car, it has been running flawless ever since. However, I have had the driver's side cut off ONCE when starting the car, but as long as I start the car first, both lights are working flawlessly.

I will say that the passenger side light still seems a bit "greener" than the driver side, but it's unnoticable by looking at the car, and it's unnoticable on the road. It's only noticable when the lights are pointed at a wall, and it's barely noticable then.

Assuming that nothing else goes wrong with them, and I can get them aimed properly, I'm still happy with them, and I still love the way they look on the car.

Hopefully, this will help you out if you are still having problems.

- Joshua

i'm going to change my story up a bit -- you WILL ABSOLUTELY notice a color difference between hids on either side of your car. i remember some guy over at never burn out telling me that he had three cars (a couple with OEM HIDs) that had a brighter side. a defective ballast and having to reignite a couple times is a different ball park. but slightly different colors, that's sort of goes with the territory.
