Default HID: Hi Beam vs No Hi Beam

I'm getting around to ordering some 4300ks...I have black housings and eyelids to reduce SOME glare, but I was wondering if it's worth it to spend the $30+ for Bi-Xenon HID's

Are the hi beams used a lot? Is it a lot brighter? Useful?

Thanks

Well with the glare you get you really dont need the high beams. If you really use high beams alot then maybe i would consider. One reason they can be useful is for inspection and if you have like 4300K. I know in NJ they dont really check and see if cars have them factory or not.

If I remember correctly the BiXenon uses a Halogen filament. I remember people saying it doesn't help much. I guess its up to you. I have 6000k and have never come to point where I wished I had High beams.

The reason HID is not a good choice for high beams is because they take over a minute to heat up or come on full power so you would loose the ability to “flash to pass” or just flick on your high beams for a dark corner.

I don't know if that's true or not. I've been searching for some comparison photos with no luck

I'm just going to get the regular low beam, given that I ever have to take them off or what not I wouldn't have sunk a lot of money into them.

YouTube - VVME 4300K HID Installation and Evaluation

Video, not in a neon but you get the idea. Still throwing the idea in my head....$40 extra at VVMe for the bi

You can save about $18 bucks if you use VVME's Ebay site

$72 shipped opposed to $90

I'm nervous they're going to send me the wrong bulbs, temps, etc...you hear that a lot

^^^ I was nervous too at the time when I ordered. I also ordered off of their Ebay site. Everything came as promised! No problems at all.

My experience:

I had 6000K on my Spec V, no hi-beams.
It was fine, 98% of the time i drove in the city, i would drive to my cottage at night occasionally and low beams worked good.

I've now got 6000K HIDs for my SRT-4, w/ hi-beams.
I went with hi-beams this time, only because i have the ability to flash people, i know when i say this i sound like a complet jerk. While driving in my spec v on the highway i would get the odd high beam flick from on coming drivers, it would get irratating after awhile. Especially because i took the time aiming the bulbs correctly.

Now when someone flashes me in my SRT-4, i'll flash them right back, only blinding them more.

This is the main reason i wish i went with the low/high's. I look retarded when i turn my lights on/off really quick.
